Colorado is full of LGBTQIA+ resources. There are a variety of organizations and resources available to members of the LGBTQIA+ community in and around the state. Colorado has something for everyone, from LGBTQIA+-friendly businesses to social and support groups.

Resources In Denver

Babes Around Denver

Babes Around Denver (BAD) is a dynamic social and events organization that fosters a welcoming and inclusive community for women in the LGBTQIA+ community. Through hosting a variety of entertaining events, including monthly First Friday gatherings, BAD aims to connect like-minded individuals and promote a sense of belonging. With a mission to create safe and fun spaces, Babes Around Denver continues to uplift and empower its members while celebrating diversity and individuality.

The Center On Colfax

The Center on Colfax is a comprehensive LGBTQIA+ community center in Colorado, dedicated to providing support, resources, and advocacy for the well-being and empowerment of the LGBTQIA+ community. With an extensive range of programs and services, including youth initiatives, legal assistance, and health resources, The Center strives to create a safe and inclusive environment that fosters personal growth and community connections. By hosting various events and educational workshops, The Center on Colfax actively engages in promoting social change and equality for all.

They also offer a program for LGBTQIA+ elder individuals.

SAGE of the Rockies is a program offered by The Center on Colfax, an LGBTQIA+ community center in Denver, Colorado. SAGE (Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders) is a national organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ older adults. The program aims to provide resources, support, and opportunities for social engagement to LGBTQIA+ individuals aged 50 and older.

In addition to this, they have resources dedicated to LGBTQIA+ Youth – Rainbow Alley.

Denver Element 

Denver ELEMENT is a community-based organization dedicated to empowering and improving the well-being of gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (GBTQ) men in the Denver area. Through a variety of programs and services, including mental health counseling, substance abuse support, and social events, Denver ELEMENT fosters personal growth, resilience, and connections within the GBTQ community. With a focus on inclusivity, diversity, and holistic health, Denver ELEMENT strives to create a supportive environment where individuals can thrive and lead fulfilling lives.

Denver Mayor’s LGBTQIA+ Commission

The Denver LGBTQIA+ Commission, operating under the Agency for Human Rights and Community Partnerships, serves as an advisory body to the Mayor of Denver and the city government on matters concerning the LGBTQIA+ community. The commission’s primary goal is to promote social, economic, and political equality while addressing the unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ individuals in Denver.

By engaging in advocacy, policy recommendations, and community outreach, the Denver LGBTQIA+ Commission actively works towards creating a more inclusive and diverse environment for all residents. The commission also supports various initiatives and events that celebrate the contributions and achievements of the LGBTQIA+ community in Denver.

It Takes a Village

It Takes a Village Colorado is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families and children in the Denver metro area. They focus on providing resources, education, and advocacy to empower parents and caregivers, helping them create strong, healthy families. Colorado Name Change Project

The Name Change Project is a dedicated initiative that provides legal assistance to transgender and gender non-conforming individuals seeking to change their names. Recognizing the importance of a name that reflects one’s true identity, the project partners with law firms and volunteer attorneys to offer free, comprehensive support throughout the name change process.
